NUVO Span – Hybrid

  • System Description:

A highly-engineered innovative hybrid soffit or ceiling system allowing for much larger individual panel sizes than traditionally available in standard metal ceiling assemblies. As a fully accessible system, the NUVO Span can be ordered fully perforated for acoustic or ventilation purposes, or flat (unperforated) when concealing the ceiling cavity above is required. Thanks to the proprietary “Captured Channel’ locking system of the NUVO Span system, the assembly offers superior wind load resistance capabilities without jeopardizing the ‘large-panel’ aesthetic common in modern soffit and ceiling designs. And like all other ceiling systems from Nelson Architectural Metals, the NUVO Span is designed to be flexible and adaptable to suit unique and custom project requirements.

  • Materials

Aluminum Sheet: 3003-H14 alloy (Standard) or 5005-H34 alloy (For use with anodized finishes).
Stainless Steel Sheet: Type 304 (Standard) or 316 (For higher degree of corrosion resistance).
Galvanized Steel Sheet: Galvanneal Satin Coat.
    Available up to a maximum panel size of 59” x 59” (1500 mm x 1500mm).

  • Finishes

Aluminum: Baked polyester powder, or two or three coat fluoropolymer coatings by PPG® or Valspar®. Class I or II anodic finishes.
Stainless Steel: Satin brush # 4, Mirror # 8 or other readily available finishes for example,
    Non-Directional Brush or Random Swirl.
Galvanized Steel Sheet: Baked polyester powder.

  • Acoustics

Metal Ceilings are available both non-perforated (non-acoustic) and perforated (acoustic).

Perforation patterns are limited only to the type of material and gauge chosen and available tooling. Nelson offers perforation patterns including straight, diagonal (45-degree), and staggered (60-degree) to straight as well as round, square and oblong holes.

Our standard acoustical material consists of a Black pre-laminated fleece (SoundTex®) bonded to the concealed face of the ceiling panel.
